Our PCR Test – Targeted Diagnosis of Resistance Mechanism

What does our PCR test offer you?

With our PCR test, we specifically identify the resistance mechanisms of grass weeds and broadleaf weeds. It forms the foundation of our current resistance expertise and is a key tool in our diagnostic process.

How does the test work?

We perform the PCR test in two cases:

  • On leaf samples taken directly from the field – in autumn or spring, upon request
  • Regularly on plants from greenhouse trials – following the development of resistance profiles

How do we differentiate between resistance mechanisms?

To distinguish between different forms of resistance, we combine results from laboratory PCR testing and greenhouse trials:

  • TSR (Target Site Resistance):
Diagnosed when specific gene markers are detected through DNA sequencing.
  • NTSR (Non-Target Site Resistance):
Suspected when no TSR markers are found, but plants show clear resistant reactions in the greenhouse trials.

Your advantage

This combined analysis provides clear, scientifically sound insights into the type of resistance present in your field population – forming the basis for customized and future-proof control strategies.
